About

About this blog:

One of my good friends once said that “talking about how little I write, and how much I wish I was writing more, is one of my favorite hobbies.”

He and I are so alike sometimes, it’s terrifying.

I aspire to write the short story, the novel, the screenplay. The urge to write is burning. The execution, well, let’s just say it never lives up to the hope.

I am inspired by those who say we should write about what we are passionate about. My passion seems to lie in talking about what it takes to write, even if my projects themselves fail to bring equal vigor.

So that’s why this blog exists. I love talking about writing, or not writing, or why it’s important to write instead of complaing about not. Hopefully this will give us all an opporutnity to reflect on our demons.

The nature of any good blog is the idea that misery loves company, and hyper links make company a click away.

About me (Phil):

I’m 23 and live in Austin, a boon to aspriing aritsts and pseudo-intelluctuals from across the Lone Star State. I just graduated with majors in writing and philosophy, and the more distance between myself and the class room, the more inclined I feel to write.

I started with more hobbies, projects and commitments than time (I don’t know what I was thinking buying an autoharp.) Now I’m starting to cull them. Hopefully writing will stay on up toward the top.

I really can’t say for sure, because swimming is starting to sound a whole lot less stressful, and it’s good for the body (I’m told.)
